Tutti Frutti Tea Trolley Dance

On Saturday 16th October 2010 I took part in the Tutti Frutti Tea Trolley dance workshop led by Helen Morse Palmer and organised by Sally Child.

We were asked as the Tea Birds to perform a rock and roll dance routine with the tea trolleys which we did, see below:

It was great fun to be asked and to take part in the dance. Helen got the group to do the stroll with tea trolleys, which looked amazing and we also did the stroll in a circle, which worked brilliantly. We had a go at making up our own moves in pairs with the trolleys aswell as try out some of the moves that Helen and Sally invented.

It was a lovely 2 hour workout. And a place to meet new people and drink tea. But also not be afraid of dancing as its for those who think they can’t dance, its about letting go and having fun and not taking one self too seriously. We also had a sing song which again was such a laugh as they were well known songs whereby the words were changed to fit the tea trolley concept. Such as ‘My baby just cares for Tea!’

Another big part of the tea trolley dancing is the dressing up. There are different themes and tutti frutti was based on Carmen Miranda the great icon who sang and danced wearing a bowl of fruit on her head.

This is our version. Anyway I definitely recommend it to anyone who has a fondness for the tea trolley or likes to dance for fun.

Happy Tea Trolley Dancing!

If have attached some general information but feel free to contact me, my details are below.

    General Information
Britain’s biggest dance show, Sky One’s GOT TO DANCE, is back for a third series. Davina McCall will host the competition, with Ashley Banjo, Kimberley Wyatt and Adam Garcia all returning as Judges, as dancers battle it out to win the life-changing sum of a quarter of a million pounds and the chance to become the GOT TO DANCE CHAMPION 2012.
We are now accepting applications and want anyone who thinks they have what it takes to come to our auditions – whether they’re 4 or 84, into Street or Salsa, a soloist or in a group, a professional or an amateur. Whatever their style of dance, whatever their ability we want to see it! Auditions are in July and August.
